Who We Are: Adrenalin O.D., New Jersey Hardcore Since 1981
If you've ever heard a song that was over before you'd stopped laughing, you may already know Adrenalin O.D. Here's who we are and where we came from.
Where are we from?
We are a hardcore punk band from New Jersey. We formed in 1981, out of a late-1970s band called The East Paterson Boys Choir, and we played until 1990. Since then we have come back for reunion shows, including a CBGB benefit in 2005 and new shows from 2022.
Who is in the band?
The classic lineup is Paul Richard on vocals and guitar, Bruce Wingate on guitar, Jack Steeples on bass and Dave Scott on drums. Jim Foster played guitar in the early days, and Keith Hartel and Wayne Garcia later played bass.
What do they sound like?
Fast, short and funny. We are known for quick hardcore songs with humorous lyrics. "Paul's Not Home" became a college radio hit.

Want the whole story?
Our drummer Dave Scott Schwartzman wrote a book about the band's early years: If It's Tuesday This Must Be Walla Walla: The Wacky History of Adrenalin O.D. (2022).
